Reverse Engineering
Existing parts rebuilt as clean, editable CAD, so they can be remade, repaired, modified or improved.
From physical part to usable CAD
When there are no drawings, the original supplier is gone, or a part has been damaged, we capture its geometry and rebuild it. A scan mesh is a record of the surface; it cannot be edited or toleranced like a CAD model. We model the part with its design intent: true diameters, flat faces, consistent wall thickness and features that line up with the parts around it.
Damaged parts can be reconstructed from the undamaged side, a mirrored opposite-hand part, or a mating component.
- Parametric solid models with full feature history
- Class-A style surfacing for visible and aero surfaces
- Reconstruction of damaged, worn or missing geometry
- Mirroring left- and right-hand parts
- Deviation reports comparing new CAD to the scan
- Design improvements and material changes
